Centre of Academic Excellence is a non-profit, nongovernmental and politically unconditioned think-tank based in Bucharest, Romania.

Its mission is to bring together national and international academics who share its ideals regarding the necessity to develop programmes dedicated to supporting and encouraging educational progress. The main areas of interest of the Centre are Administrative Sciences, Legal Studies, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, European Studies and Communication.

The idea of establishing such an organisation belonged to a group of academics and young graduates from the National School for Political Studies and Public Administration and also from the University of Bucharest. The initiative resulted in its legal foundation in 2010, by the Conclusion no. 86 / April 16 of the 3rd Sector Court. According to its statutory provisions, the Centre is headed by a President for a three years term. Detailed information is available in the Centre’s Foundation Statute (PDF).
